The 2014 GreenBiz Forum brings together GreenBiz Group, The Sustainability Consortium, and ASU's Global Institute of Sustainability. We’re leveraging our vast networks, insights and domain expertise to bring you the brightest thinkers and most influential leaders. You'll get an unparalleled in-depth look at the key challenges and opportunities facing sustainable business today.

The Forum is framed by the annual State of Green Business report, the seventh annual edition of GreenBiz’s acclaimed accounting of key sustainability metrics and trends. The report, combined with the high-wattage stage presentations, workshops and networking opportunities that have become hallmarks of GreenBiz events, makes the 2014 GreenBiz Forum an unforgettable event.

Transportation Luncheon ImageThe issues of sustainable growth are complex. Specific development types and creative reuses are subsets of the solution but bigger challenges impact our future. As we come out of survival mode into an improving economy, what will we do to ensure the buildings we build are full forever? How will we make certain that an ethic of sustainability is woven into the fabric of creating great community tapestries that work?

Water is still limited. Energy demand is increasing. Our big three universities have a combined student population in the area of 120,000 and should graduate more than 25,000 this year. Are we generating enough quality entry level positions in the state to keep them home or are our best and brightest going to find opportunities away from Arizona?

    MARRIOTT TUCSON UNIVERSITY PARK
    880 E. Second St. │Tucson, AZ 85719

Arizona’s transportation system stands at a pivotal point surrounding infrastructure investments that carry the capacity to liven our state’s commerce, tourism and international trade. The proposed interstate highway between Phoenix and Las Vegas and a passenger-rail line from Tucson to Phoenix pack huge economic potential. If extended, I-11 could become the new north-south transcontinental CANAMEX corridor, spanning between Mexico and Canada. Planning is still preliminary, but now is the time to build consensus around a laser-focused transportation strategy.
