Mr. Ford is a co-founder and Principal of Solutions AEC. Mr. Ford’s leadership and engineering experience have led Solutions AEC to become a national MPE engineering company working across the country including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
Mr. Spencer is the Managing Director of Solutions AEC Arizona. Mr. Spencer’s project experience includes government, healthcare, assisted living, education, university, commercial, churches, industrial and food and beverage projects.
This presentation will present an engineer’s perspective on two deeply sustainable projects. We will compare and contrast these two Living Building projects and that process. It will also highlight our perspectives on the changes and improvements within the process, from one version of the LBC Certification to the next. We will also highlight and discuss some of the principles within the LBC process that can and should be incorporated into LEED projects.
Solutions AEC is a national MPE design and construction company that completed over 100 LEED or highly sustainable projects in our first 10 years of business. SAEC served as the engineers on the World’s First Living Building, the Tyson Living Learning Center for Washington University in St. Louis. SAEC’s second living building, The College School has just finished the construction phase and is getting ready to enter into its one-year certification period.
