Feed your mind as well as your need for awesome Mexican food at our monthly Lunch & Learn program.

The July Lunch and Learn topic is "Green Recreation."  Our presenters will be:

R.J. Cardin, Director of the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department

Mr. Cardin's full biography can be found here.

Joe Impecoven, Phoenix Outdoor Prorams and Outreach Market Coordinator, REI.

As the Phoenix REI Outdoor Programs & Outreach Coordinator, Joe is responsible for the development, scheduling, promotion, and execution of both REI’s in-store classes and Outdoor School Field Class, occasionally teaching classes himself with a specialty in Leave No Trace.  Along with REI’s outdoor education programs, Joe also coordinates the support of community organizations and stewardship through promotional support, sponsorships, donations, and the REI grants program which support organizations that champion human powered recreation in the outdoors through environmental conservation and stewardship.  Joe is in his third year with REI.  Prior to REI, Joe held positions as a High Adventure Program Director for the Boy Scouts of America here in Arizona, a Store Specialist with Borders Books & Music in various parts of the country, a butcher in Washington state, and an Aircraft Electrician in Mesa, AZ.  As an active outdoor enthusiast Joe’s favorite hobby is solo-backpacking, which has taken him through jungles, deserts, and mountains, his longest adventure lasting 32 days off the coast of British Columbia, Canada.  Engaged to be married, his adventures ahead appear to be more open to couples backpacking along with his two dogs Bacon & Lola.

Our program will begin promptly at 12:00.  Please arrive at 11:30 - 11:45 to place your lunch order.

NEW VENUE!  Our May Lunch and Learn will be held at Macayo's on Central at Indian School.  The rate of $18 includes your choice of anything on the extensive Macayo's lunch menu as well as a soft drink.
